Beltane in Glastonbury

Crocs

True to form you never know what you’re going to see next in Glastonbury.

I just popped to see Will in the Look at my Crazy Shoes shop and Glastonbury town cross was absolutely packed with people celebrating Beltane. I was not sure what exactly Beltane was so I had to Google it.

Wikipedia says: For the Celts, Beltane marked the beginning of the pastoral summer season when the herds of livestock were driven out to the summer pastures and mountain grazing lands.

I am not sure if there is going to be much herding and grazing going on but everyone seemed to be having a great time dancing and singing. I think the main dress theme was green and those taking part certainly were making the effort.

I am always up for a celebration so “Happy Beltane”
