Here is an article about Crocs being banned in hospitals- there is a petition for an explanation from the NHS added on the end of it if anyone is interested? Click here to read.

I understand their issue with caymans/beach styles, but not with styles without holes - they are only similar to other branded clogs nurses have worn for years! Possibly the brightly coloured crocs are not the most sensible choice for work shoes, but choosing a sensible style and sensible colour there should be no problem.

With regard to the build up of static electricity - of my 20+ pairs I only have that problem with one pair (unfortunately my sea foam caymans) any ideas why? and it shouldn't be such a problem that it's life threatening - it's just a crap reason to ban the crocs!

All they need to wear are the ones without holes like the non vented specialist. What other shoes can be dropped in bleach and scrubbed, quickly dried and replaced on the feet??? Most infections are caused by slap dash cleaning of the wards, unemptied bins, bags of syringes, pads etc left laying around in corridors and staff not washing or sterilising their hands between patients. They are just trying to get the blame of themselves and put it onto others i.e crocs!! I have been in hospital enough times to witness the grime for myself as most of the time the poor over worked nurses are trying to keep things clean, as if they haven't got enough to do already!

To be quite frank about this Crocs hospital saga -

I THINK IT'S A LOAD OF B*LLOCKS!

And that's all I have to say on the matter
