This made me laugh
DATE: 20/09/2007 09:49:11 / MOOD: happy

Hope admin don't remove this, but a friend sent me this and I was going to forward to those whose e-mail address I had and then I decided to put it in a blog instead!

This really made me laugh when I read it (please don't read if you are easily offended!):

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all. One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it. The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom! When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat. The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and He could no longer resist. "Miss Beatrice", he said, "I wonder if you would tell me about this," pointing to the bowl."Oh, yes," she replied, "Isn't it wonderful? I was walking through the park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground. The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease. Do you know I haven't had the flu all winter?"

My views on my new shoe charms
DATE: 15/09/2007 18:55:41 / MOOD: happy

So I've had my new charms since Tuesday and have worn a set every day so what do I think?

I have 3 sets...2 for caymans and 1 for prima and have worn all three sets.

The set on my sea foam first....they are lovely....the way I put them in, down the outside of the crocs, meant I didn't feel the fastenings at all. Only thing with this set was the dolphin moving quite a lot - they got stuck in other holes and were upside down often. They look pretty and I love them, but I can imagine the dolphins moving could annoy some people.

Set number 2, my prima pair......again love them.....i was more aware of the clasps and did notice a slight red mark below my big toe, but very quickly it disappeared and it wasn't uncomfortable. I wasn't aware of these charms on my crocs as they didn't move in the same way as the dolphins on the previous pair.

Set number 3, another set of caymans charms (I will add a pic asap!) Again gorgeous! I've put them on my lavendar caymans and definitely tested them today when I went into Cardiff and then walked to meet my cousin in a local park! This time I decided to put the charms across the top of the cayman - straight away I noticed a difference as I was again aware of the clasp below my big toe again. As the croc is looser, I have a red mark where I could feel the clasp rubbing the top of my foot. But it was only on one foot?! This set doesn't have any dangly charms and therefore I was hardly aware of them. But they still are very pretty.

So whilst I love the dolphin charms, I think not having dangly charms is more practical, Also it may be more comfortable to wear the charms down the outside of the croc rather than over the top - but I didn't wear socks with my crocs - with socks you definitely wouldn't have a problem with the clasps. But saying that I will keep wearing the charms across the top and see how I get on!

I have had positive comments on them, one person at work asked for the eBay shop for her daughter and also my croc hating cousin thought they looked nice! They are a lovely change from jibbitz and smarter and just that bit different.

If you have any specific questions on my new charms, please ask - would I buy more - YES!

Update on the NHS issue - article on BBC website
DATE: 06/09/2007 08:34:37 / MOOD: happy

Hubby sent me this link:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6979400.stm

It says that it's only caymans, beach & mjs which are an issue as they have holes in - but that the non holey ones should not be a problem - and there had been no problems with static electricty!

I have to ask what was my husband doing finding this link when he only gets 20 mins of internet time a day at work? Obviously crocs are more important to him than he would like me to believe!

Garden clogs

OMG - how awful - but a bargain at £2.99! (or just a waste of money!)

and..........

Wellies

Now these I'm not sure about - would be tempting - but they don't come small enough for me..... a snip at £4.99

yes I'm bored! xx

Jibbitz from the US
DATE: 24/08/2007 09:00:38 / MOOD: full of life

I remember I confessed to Kay, but not sure if anyone else!  Although I can't buy any more crocs due to the impending holiday, I did find myself on the jibbitz.com site looking at Spongebob and his friends.....I'd promised Ben a Gary - cos he is his favourite character...and I wanted the whole set of 5.....in case ben felt left out I thought I'd better order 2 of everything just in case.....after more browsing...popping them in my basket - and then taking out 1 or 2 - as I had a few too many in there...I decided to see what the shipping is...$8 so I reckon yes I can order them......so the deed was done.....

Kay asked how many..oh just a few I said...can't remember exactly how many.....and then I just waited....was expecting quite a delay...but they've arrived this morning...think it was about a week or so from order so very happy.....

Good news...they marked it as a gift...so no customs charge...and I got a free jibbitz sticker...will have to buy a nice little storage box for my jibbitz now so I can stick my sticker on it!

Are you wondering how many I bought yet?

I don't know how I convinced myself I could order jibbitz if I couldn't order crocs...maybe it was because they are so small and each one is relatively cheap! It's just when you order 20 that it looks expensive!!  Oops did I say 20, that was ignoring Ben's 5..so 25 in total!  (worked out about £1.50 each cos some were more expesive cos licensed)

They look so lovely all together in their little bag (remember this is the person who wouldn't buy jibbitz for a year after her first crocs purchase!) I had to bring them into work to look at!  Rest assured a photo will follow....but I have already given Ben his set....then he didn't say a thing about all of mine.....

What did I get? I'll add that later...will take photos this evening and then you can see for yourselves!

Addicted to crocs...that's what Ben says....and my family are worried about me (apparently).....don't know what the problem is...we could be addicted to a lot worse!

Flowers background - how i did it....
DATE: 20/08/2007 15:39:49 / MOOD: other

Hopefully this is going to make sense - thanks to cosmic who helped me figure this out! Everyone keeps asking about the background picture as since we had the new site it doesn't seem to have worked......

You browse to find a picture (if it's small to upload to the site it will tile, if it's a large picture you may not see the whole pic as Kay found out, so experiment if you have time or the inclination!!!!) and upload it.

BUT to get it to show you need to have the background colour blank (not transparent, but blank). To do this select background color to get the pop up box up. ensure the box above the 'select color' button is blank and click on it. When you go back to your page design page there should be no colour against background but also no words.

Save page design and hey presto you should have a picture as background!

No promises it will work as I'm not a big techie or a great IT trainer..by all means message me and I'll try and help you do it

The meet
DATE: 12/08/2007 17:36:04 / MOOD: happy

OK - as I had a few comments about my other little story, I thought I'd add a little bit about Saturday's meet.

After driving for what seemed like hours, stuck in traffic with everyone else going on hols I finally arrived in Glastonbury. I'd thought I was going to be early, but ended up later than expected....drove through the town, but couldn't see the shop so eventually found somewhere to park and rushed through the shops to try and find where I should be. Suddenly I saw it....and rushed in to see Ella by the counter talking to the shop manager....then I saw Jaynie and Tony all the way from Scotland...... after introductions and chatting we got round to the business of the day....shopping for crocs (forget the fact I wasn't going to buy any!!!) I tried on the fitflops - too big for my little size 3s, also tried some weird flip flops on - dopie's - understand the concept, but they weren't right for my feet.....wandered round the shop some more, chatting with others as they started to find what they wanted...note I've been good so far - no crocs! After several texts and calls, Amanda and Scott arrived - they'd popped into Clarks village on the way (and were wondering why they couldn't find the shop)..more talking and browsing....then someone pushing a push chair says hello to me...it's Jude and the boys...more talking and I'm now finding the fact everyone has crocs in their shopping baskets too much....what could I possibly buy? Try on Cleo - sizing weird - end up with uk 5s!!! but think they're too flimsy - not really for me - back they go....no sassaris to try on either (just to see what they were like cos I don't do heels!) Well I don't have any disney crocs ...what do they have in my size over to the kiddie section....no sea blue so what other colour could I have? Black - try them on - boring - so how about yellow? Yes they've got them... Kay and I were talking about yellow crocs only last week... so in they go.....scutes..tried Heidi's on but they didn't fit, maybe I should try them again - you know how they differ - got the turquoise/fushia - now that's a striking combo and it goes with my outfit (yes I'm sad!!!) - they feel quite nice - not quite so wide as heidi's - cos they're new..not sure about them cos used to a firmer front....but in they go - should give them a chance!! See Jaynie, with a lovely pair of off roaders - black and she's getting fushia turbo straps for them how fab... Remember although my off roaders seem enormous, Kay's seemed better..so go to find the off roaders..they still have a size 4 black pair - seem slightly smaller than my current ones (though still big!) so in they go with yellow turbo straps! Also pick up a couple of jibbitz and a jibbitz strap. Looked at the tungz...but not for me, they don't sit well on the size 3s cos they are for 3-5 so look big on the 3s....am waiting at the counter when I hear that the buy 5 offer is valid in the shop and with our discount - so I could get another 2 pairs and only pay for one!!! how could i resist? Rush back to kiddies section to see what I can buy! Sea foam primas are shouting at me - they look so fab with all the other colours..should I get Mum some black primas - in they go, but then I spy sienna caymans and they're a 3..should I... ok - back go mum's shoes and in go the sienna....better go and pay as it's nearly time for lunch and I wasn't going to buy any.....I don't need any!!

Unfortunately for me, but fortunately for my bank balance I couldn't go back to the shop after the pub as I had a family party to go to! Otherwise goodness knows what would have happened..... roll on my birthday in November.......

ps haven't taken the scute off since I put them on to go to the party Saturday eve (ok Jaqc .... I didn't sleep in them!)

Annoyed - re interview
DATE: 09/08/2007 09:49:17 / MOOD: angry

As you all know I had an interview yesterday - interview itself went ok - only slight issue might have been me teaching aerobics after work so not being completely flexible in how late I work - but I messed up the IT skills test - not helped by being told how easy it was!

Had a message to ring this morning - so eventually did - all the others they invited to interview (3 others) didn't turn up so they are re-advertising the post instead of appointing - not sure if I have to interview again or not, but will not know for ages as new closing date is 21st August so interviews will be early september!

So back to searching the job pages for me - if they liked me that much - I would have been appointed so my manager thinks - I tend to agree.

All things happen for a reason so on with the show! At least I've got Saturday to look forward to!
